Uniform - General
All pupils should attend class in the correct uniform. Dancers should be neat and tidy. Dancing is very disciplined so pupils should look and feel the part. Being well groomed in the proper uniform with hair tied back from the face is an important part of the class, and hopefully will make the dancer feel better prepared to work their hardest.
Hair for all classes should be well tied back, away from the face. Hair for ballet should ideally be in a bun. If this is not possible it should at least be securely tied back in a neat style.
No Jewellery should be worn to dance classes, including watches.
Small earrings - ideally normal studs are acceptable. No hoop earrings should be worn as these can get caught and be dangerous.
Uniform - Ballet
The uniform for ballet classes is the Royal Academy of Dance regulation uniform which is detailed below.

Uniform - Jazz, Modern & Tap
Modern
Modern pupils wear black sleeveless catsuits (leotard and tights if preferred) - not jazz pants !
Lower grades (1 -3):
Bare feet or ballet shoes - pink / black. Pupils are bare footed for these exams
Higher grades (grade 4-6 & jazz classes):
Pupils may wear black jazz shoes - preferably split soled as these are more flexible.
Some pupils prefer to dance bare footed in class and exams for both modern and jazz. This is completely acceptable,
Indeed examiners recommend and encourage this.
